Adobe XD Features

Adobe XD is the prototyping tool for UI/UX Designers. Designers use this tool when creating wireframes, prototypes, and screen designs for digital products such as websites and mobile apps.

When I started my career as a UI/UX designer, my first tools were Sketch, and recently after that Figma. After I read many articles and watched many videos about Adobe XD, I decided to give it a try. I recently started to use Adobe XD when creating my daily UI challenges. I love how simple and easy is to take your concept and transition it to clickable prototypes for any devices you are working on (mobile, desktop, tablet). When you know your way with tools like Sketch and Figma, learning Adobe XD, it’s really not that hard.

Here are my favorite Adobe XD features:

  • Repeatable grids – this is a time-saving feature if you want to duplicate some of your objects several times. All you have to do is to select the object you want to duplicate and hit the repeat grid on the right. You can duplicate your objects as many times as you need.
  • Prototyping - simply click on the layer or screen and drag the blue handle to the screen you want to transition to. You can slight your process to the left or right, ease in or out, and also change a few other options.

There are also a few other features that I like about this tool, like symbols, overlays, fixed elements that I will write about in my next blog.
